No. The official ticketing system sells tickets directly to individual visitors, and independent travelers enter without guides every day. If you would like one, licensed guides are available at the entrance gate for around $40 to $60 per group, no advance booking needed. You have the freedom to explore at your own pace. Rules can change, and we keep this page updated. If anything changes before your travel date, we will email you.

We email all three tickets, your official entry permit, return train ticket and return bus ticket, within 12 hours of payment, usually much faster. They arrive as PDFs to your email address, and your booking is confirmed once all three have been delivered.

Check your spam folder first. If your tickets have not arrived, email hello@gettomachupicchu.com with your booking reference.

All entry tickets are official Ministry of Culture permits, and your rail and bus tickets are official tickets too, issued in your name.

Ministry of Culture tickets are non-transferable once issued. Email us as soon as possible if you need help. Changes are not always possible.
