Which circuit is right for you? Here is everything you need to know.

Classic circuit 2-A

The most complete Machu Picchu experience. Starts at the famous guard house viewpoint, the postcard shot every visitor wants, then takes you through the full citadel including ancient Inca monuments, agricultural terraces, ceremonial spaces and water fountains. The circuit most first time visitors choose. Approximately 2.5 hours inside.

Huayna Picchu 3-A

The lower citadel ruins including the Monument of the Sun, the Monument of the Condor and ceremonial spaces, plus the steep Huayna Picchu mountain climb. The hike involves ladders and narrow stone steps. Not suitable for visitors with vertigo or limited mobility. Does not include the classic guard house viewpoint. Approximately 4 to 5 hours total.

Machu Picchu Mountain 1-A

The famous guard house viewpoint and upper terraces plus the climb to the summit of Machu Picchu Mountain. Less steep than Huayna Picchu but still demanding. Panoramic views across the citadel and the valley. Does not include the full citadel walk or the Inca ruins and monuments. Approximately 4 hours total.

Which one should I choose?

  • First time visiting and want the full experience? Classic circuit.
  • Fit and adventurous and want to climb the mountain above the ruins? Huayna Picchu.
  • Want the classic viewpoint and a mountain climb but prefer a less steep route? Machu Picchu Mountain.
